Owen Hart

R.I.P.

Monday, May 24, 1999, I was having my usual morning cup of coffee, a cigarette and watching the news of the day, when suddenly the news came on about a death of a wrestler, Owen Hart. I was in shock. As I sat there watching and listening to the news in full detail of how the accident happened, my heart felt like a Mack Truck had just ran over it. I couldn't belive that God would take away one of the finest athletes in the world. I understand that all good things come to an end, but this was a hell of a way for a man to die.

Owen was part of the Hart Foundation, the one foundation that was bigger and better than the Four Horsemen in my opinion. I began to like Owen in the latter part of his life. I remember the one cage match I saw on video of him and his brother Bret "Hitman" Hart. This was the first and one of the best cage matches I saw. From day one I have always liked the way the Hart Family (or Foundation) wrestled. I never had the opportunity to see Stu Hart (Owen's Father) wrestle but I have enjoyed Owen and Bret's love for wrestling. Owen and Bret were one of the best technical wrestlers on the planet today.

Monday Evening, I sat down to watch the WCW (World Championship Wrestling) and even tho it was WWF's (World Wrestling Federation) rival show, I watched in amazement of the opening show. Owen Hart's name in White with a black background and a three bell ring salute in honor of Owen. I watched the WCW for an hour then switched over when Raw is War (WWF program) came on I watched it. I have to say out of all the wrestling shows and events I have been to and watched, this was the ONLY one that had tears coming out of my eyes. I sat watching Raw for two solid hours with a box of Kleenex by my side and a heavy heart.

I will never forget Owen Hart. I will never forget the Raw is War show either. It made me realise that no matter where you are or what you do, the good lord can take you at any time. My heart goes to Owen's beautiful wife and two wonderful children. My heart also goes to all the Hart family in their time of need.

Good Bye Owen Hart, may the stars spell your name in glory, and let the Gods of Wrestling prepare you the thrown for you are the KING.
